Oklahoma is asking a judge to give a temporary guardian to her daughter, who was placed in the custody of her grandmother last month, a court spokeswoman said Monday.
The woman, whose name is not being released, filed the petition for guardianship with the Marion County Probate Court, saying she was not able to pay the $50 fee for a permanent guardian.
The grandmother had placed the child in the care of a different woman and was under the care and protection of a person other than her, according to court records.
The woman had filed for guardianships for other children and grandchildren before the birth of her daughter.
The birth of the child was reported on April 23, the last day of the new year, according the records.
A representative for the grandmother did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
The attorney for the woman could not immediately be reached for comment.
